Spicy peanuts

Spicy peanuts can be made at home in no time...You can take them to the beach or simply watch a movie and snack them on your lazy couch!!



Ingredients:

Peanuts:1 cup

Chilli powder:1/4 tsp

Pepper powder:a pinch

Salt to taste

Curry leaves:few

Oil: as needed

Preparation:

Take a pan and add in the oil...

Toss in the curry leaves..

Add in the peanuts and after a while add in the chillipowder and pepper powder...

Mix well..Let the masala powders blend well with the peanuts..

Remove from the flame..

Tasty and spicy peanuts are ready!!

Enjoy the spicy peanuts...

Tapioca cutlet - Kappa cutlet

Kappa cutlet is so yummy...Here is an easy to make recipe..



Ingredients:

Tapioca:250 grams

Salt to taste

Bread crumbs:1 cup

Onion:1,chopped finely

Pepper powder:1/4 tsp

Chilli powder:1/4 tsp

Green chilly:1,chopped


Preparation:

Cook the tapioca after peeling them..

Mash them...

Take a bowl and mix together the pepper powder,chilli powder,salt finely chopped onion and green chilly...



Once you get a fine mixture,take the mixture on to your palm and shape them as patties or cutlets...

Heat and pan and add oil in the pan...

Coat the prepared patties in bread crumbs before frying them in the oil..



Fry till golden...

Tasty kappa cutlets are ready!!

Varutha thenga for any non- vegetarian curry - Roasted coconut

Varutha thenga for any non veg kulamby can be made in no time at home...

Ingredients:
Grated coconut:1 cup
Red  dried chillies:2
Cardamom:2
Cinnamon stick:1 inch
Onion:1,small,chopped
Cloves:2
Curry leaves:few
Preparation:
Take a pan and keep it on medium flame..
Fry all the above ingredients till the coconut turns golden brown..
Remove from the pan..
Cool the contents and grind to a fine paste in the mixer..
You can use this in any mutton,chicken or egg curry…

Badam mysore pak - Almond mysore pak

Badam mysore pak - Mysore pak made with badam...Tastes heavenly...



Ingredients:

Gram flour:1 cup

Badam powder:1 cup

Sugar:2 cups

Ghee:1/4 cup

Milk:1 cup


Preparation:

Take a pan and add the milk and sugar in it...

Mix well and on medium heat keep on stirring till it becomes slightly thick...

Add the badam powder and mix well...

Add in the gram flour slowly...

Keep on stirring to avoid formation of any lumps...

Add in the ghee and keep on stirring till the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan..

Keep and plate greased with ghee ready...

Now transfer the contents to that greased plate ...

Cut in to desired shape when it cools down and enjoy the badam mysore pak!!!

Tapioca halwa - Kappa halwa

Tapioca halwa - Ever wondered making halwa with tapioca???Here's how...Follow this simple recipe...



Ingredients:

Tapioca:500 grams

Milk:1/2 cup

Sugar:3/4 cup

Milk powder:1 tbsp

Ghee:1/4 cup

Food colour:just a pinch

Cashews:5 to 6

Preparation:

Pressure cook the tapica..

Peel the skin of the tapioca...

After peeling the skin,grate the tapioca with a grater...

You can also mash the tapioca if you want...

Only make sure there are no lumps...

Take a pan and add in the milk and add the tapioca and let this mixture boil for a few minutes...

Add in the sugar and the milk powder and mix well..



Add the ghee once the mixture reduces...

Add only a pinch of the food colour so that the oroginal colour of the tapioca is retained...

In a seperate pan ghee fry cashews ans keep them ready...

Once the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan add a little more ghee and remove from the stove..

Tasty tapioca halwa is reay!!

Chocolate cup cake - Chocolate muffin

Chocolate cup cakes are so yummy,delicious and rich...So easy to make too..It is a great treat for kids...My daughter loves them..



Ingredients:

Flour:1cup

Cocoa powder:1/4 cup

Sugar:1/2 cup

Milk:1/2 cup

Vanilla essence:1/2 tsp

Baking powder:2 tsp

Eggs:2

Butter:100 grams

Preparation:

Take a large bowl and sift together the floue,cocoa powder and baking powder..

Now in another bowl cream together the sugar and the butter until light and fluffy...

Add in the eggs one at a time and beat with an electric mixer...

Now add in the vanilla essence and the milk and mix well...

Pour this battter in to the large bwl with the flour mixture and mix well..

Line the muffin tray with cup cake liners..

Preheat you oven to 180 degrees..

Bake for 18 to 20 minutes till done..

Cool for about 10 minutes..

Enjoy the finger licking and delicious chocolate cup cakes!

Cucumber stir fry

Cucumber stir fry is a simple stir fry..Can be made in no time...



Ingredients:

Cucumbers:2,sliced

Salt to taste

Red chilli powder:1/2 tsp

Black pepper powder:1/2 tsp

Oil:2 tsp

Few curry leaves

Mustard seeds:1/4 tsp

Garlic:few cloves,chopped


Preparation:

Take a pan and heat the oil...

Ad in the mustard seeds...

Once they splutter add in the curry leaves...

Then add the finely chopped onion and fry till golden...

Then add in the sliced cucumbers and  chopped garlic...

Finally add in the red chilli powder and black pepper powder...

Fry them till they are a little crisp..

Enjoy the stir fried cucumber...

Mysore bonda

Mysore bonda is a great indian snack..So simple to make and tastes yummy..Here is the simple recipe..



Ingredients:

Maida:1 cup(all purpose flour)

Rice flour:1/4 cup

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

Green chilly:1,chopped

Jeera:1/4 tsp

Ginger:1/2 tsp,finely chopped

Butter milk as required

Preparation:

Take a big bowl and add together the maida,rice flour,salt,chopped green chilly,chopped ginger and the cumin seeds..

Mix well..

Add in the buttermilk little by little and get the batter to a vada batter consistency...

Now shape these in to small balls...

Fry oil in a heavy bottomed pan..

Fry these prepared balls in the oil until they turn golden brown..

Place them on oil absorbent paper..

Enjoy the mysore bonda with Coconut chutney..

Marble cake

Marble cake looks great and tastes great...Here is a simple recipe..



Ingredients:

All purpose flour:1.5 cups

Cocoa powder:3 tbsp

Salt:1/4 tsp

Baking powder: 1 tsp

Eggs:3

Milk:1 cup

Sugar:1  and 1/4 cups

Butter:1/2 cup

Vanilla essence:1 tsp

Preparation:

Take a large bowl and mix together flour,salt,baking powder,vanilla essence and milk..

In another bowl cream together the butter until creamy...

Then add in the eggs and mix well...

Now add in the flour mixture...

Divide the batter in to two parts...

 Pour one half of the batter in to a cake pan..

Add the cocoa powder in to the batter and mix well..

Pour the remaining batter in to the cake pan now..

Fold in the batter making an alternate pattern..

Use a knife to make the swirls and the marble effect..

Preheat oven to 180 degrees..

Bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes...

Beautiful looking marble cake is ready!!
